Come out and enjoy a fun day celebrating local food and agriculture was the motto of the 6th Annual Guelph Wellington Local Food Fest taking place at Ignatius Jesuit Centre and Farm on Sunday, June 26. - and more people than ever did!
Over 2100 people came together to spend a great day enjoying delicious local food, browsing the marketplace to the sound of local musical talent, taking part in workshops & cooking demos or enjoying a self guided tour through Ignatius Farm & CSA.
The Ontario Early Years and Everdale Organic Farm and Learning Centre were back with lots of hands on activities around farming and agriculture. The whole family could also enjoy a tractor pulled wagon ride through the Ignatius grounds or have a try milking "MOONICA" the mechanical cow, provided by the Canadian Dairy Farmers' Association.
The Local Food Fest was also the official public launch of the new local food brand for the region: taste • real. To find out more about taste • real and how it can help you to make local food experiences, click here.
