Over 80 people came out to Strom's Farm on Sunday, September 11 to share a local multicourse feast under sunny skies.
Guests were welcomed with and appetizers and cocktails prepared by the Food School or could cool of with a sample of cold Wellington Brewery beer. Before heading to the long harvest table stretched out through the fields, guests were invited to participate on a tractor pulled wagon ride to explore Strom's Farm.
The multi-course dinner was prepared by chefs from the region who worked with local farmers to showcase the best food the region has to offer.
Each course was paired with wines from Colaneri Estate Winery of Niagara.
The event was complemented by live music, a live performance painting by artist Lauri Wonfor Nolan and everyone had the opportunity to bid on a few selected items in an live auction.
Thank you to all partners, sponsors and volunteers who brought this taste real experience to our community.

Why do we need to raise funds?
Ticket sales for this event will support the ongoing work of Guelph Wellington Local Food. By supporting local small businesses and farms, we build stronger rural communities, creating an environment for new business opportunities in food and helping existing businesses to grow. But it takes coordinators to bring stakeholders together. Thank you for helping to put Local Food First!

"Please acknowledge my thanks and words of praise to all who assisted with Sunday's amazing event alfresco! Appetizingly Yours, all the chefs, winery, farm and volunteers need to be thanked for bringing such a wonderful concept to reality.
One of my finest memories ever of a well spent Sunday afternoon. I loved the location, the atmosphere, glorious weather, charming company and good spirit around the table by all. I will so treasure the painting created by Laurie such a creative way to capture the essence of the day.
Thanks to all who had a hand in this amazing event!"

"Just a quick note of thanks and congratulations for a wonderful event. My friend and I, and all the people around us at the table, very much enjoyed ourselves. Food was superb, novel, and flavourful; company stimulating, venue excellent, wine was fine, and service just great. Thanks for all the effort that went into making this such a pleasurable afternoon - and great planning on the weather too! "
