Local food Champion Awards 2012

Celebrating 'Local Food Champions' from our region

Thank you for nominating your favourite Local Food Business.

Six Businesses from different categories have been awarded for their great efforts to bring more local food to local plates.

Taste Real Local Food Champion awards recognize innovation, excellence, and commitment to the local food economy in Guelph and Wellington County. To be considered for an award, nominees must demonstrate consistent and progressive use or provision of all types of local food.

The award categories recognize different sectors of the food chain that cover production, distribution and consumption. The award categories in 2012 are: broader public sector institution, restaurant, retailer, caterer, distributor and farmer.

The awards were handed out at the Source It Here – Local Food Networking Event at Ignatius Jesuit Centre on Monday, February 27th, 2012.
